Thank you for visiting Vallarta Garden Club. These terms explain how our website works and what you can expect when you give, join, sponsor or volunteer with us. By using our website, you agree to these terms. We have kept them short and in plain words, so you know exactly where you stand.

1. Who we are

Vallarta Garden Club is a nonprofit group in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, registered as a nonprofit civil association. Our members and volunteers plant, care for and protect green spaces across Vallarta. To make online giving simple and secure, we use a fundraising platform called ChangeWorks, and card payments are handled by Stripe, a trusted payment company.

2. Giving to the Club

Every gift helps keep Vallarta green and beautiful. When you give online:

One-time gifts: are charged once, on the day you give.
Monthly gifts: are charged on the same day each month until you choose to stop.
Round-up giving (only if you turn it on): rounds up your everyday purchases to the next whole amount and gives the spare change to the Club.
Currency: amounts are shown in Mexican pesos (MXN). If you pay with a card from another country, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fees.

3. Memberships

Membership brings you closer to the people and places that make Vallarta special. Each level comes with the benefits listed on our Membership page.

Renewals: we will remind you before your membership ends, so you never miss a season.
Automatic renewal (only if you choose it): your membership renews each year at the same level, and we will email you before you are charged.
Voting: active members may vote in Club elections, as our bylaws describe.

Membership benefits are personal to you (or to you and your partner, for couple memberships) and cannot be transferred to someone else.

4. Sponsorships

Sponsoring a bench, tree, stepping stone or other item is a wonderful way to leave a lasting mark on Vallarta. Because these items live in public spaces, a few things are good to know:

Your message: we will work with you on the wording for any plaque or marker. The Club gives final approval so every message fits the space.
Placement: we choose the final location with the city and our partners, keeping your wishes in mind.
Care over time: we look after sponsored items, but weather, city projects or damage may mean an item has to be moved, repaired or replaced. If that happens, we will do our best to let you know.

5. Refunds

Because your gift goes straight to work for Vallarta, gifts, memberships and sponsorships are usually not refundable. We know mistakes happen, though. If you were charged the wrong amount, charged twice, or did not mean to give, please write to [email protected] within 30 days, and we will make it right.

6. Receipts and taxes

We email you a receipt for every gift, and you can find your past receipts any time in your donor account. Whether your gift can lower your taxes depends on the country where you pay taxes and on its rules. We are happy to share what we can, but please check with your own tax advisor before claiming your gift.

7. Events and volunteering

Our work parties, garden walks and gatherings are some of the best parts of Club life. To keep everyone safe and happy:

8. Using our website

We want our website to be a friendly place for everyone. Please use it respectfully, and do not try to harm it, misuse it, or get into areas that are not meant for you. The photos, words and logo on our site belong to Vallarta Garden Club, so please ask us first before using them. Our site may link to other websites, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

9. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep our website accurate, safe and running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be perfect or available. As far as the law allows, Vallarta Garden Club is not responsible for losses that come from using our website or from events outside our control.

10. Your privacy

Your trust matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. You can read it any time at vallartagardenclub.com/privacy-policy.

11. If these terms change

From time to time, we may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If we make an important change, we will let our members and donors know.

12. Which laws apply

These terms follow the laws of Mexico and the state of Jalisco. If you ever have a concern, please talk to us first. We are always glad to listen and find a fair solution together.
